Where is the gig? (Matt Collins)
When I was about 19, I was in a covers bands doing social clubs weddings etc. The next gig was in "Bishops Sutton" Village Hall. Not having a clue where that was, I looked it up on the map - it was somewhere near Winchester - a long way from Bath where I lived. So I got to the Village Hall in good time, and waited for about an hour - no-one turned up. So I phoned up the agent - who confirmed it was at Bishops Sutton. After a few minutes we realised I was at Bishops Sutton, and I should have been at Bishop Sutton, in Somerset. Shit! It took me another 70 minutes to get to the gig. I missed the first set, and only just set up for the second set on time. I was so flustered that I didnt notice my keyboard had been transposed down by 1 semi tone. The 1st song we played was The Walk Of Life, which started with a power chord from guitars and keyboard - Guitar in E and me in Eflat ! awful. The club owner was very reluctant to pay us afterwards.
